We always look forward to our visits to the Modern Institute galleries as we are always made to feel very welcome and the exhibitions are always beautifully presented.
As usual our first stop was the Osborne Street gallery where we were met by Callum who introduced us to ‘Hot Foam’ by Jim Lambie. It’s a fabulous show that’s full of bouncing light and reflective surfaces but it was one of those unusual days in Glasgow, when the temperature is well above the norm and the heat in the gallery was a bit overwhelming for some of us, so we cut our visit a little short and headed across to the Aird’s Lane gallery. Here we were met by Mae and in the Bricks Space we enjoyed a cooler climate and ‘National Geographic’ by Simon Periton, followed by ‘Larry Rasberry and the High Steppers’ by Spencer Sweeney in the larger space.
All three exhibitions run until 27 August and more information can be found at The Modern Institute
