On Wednesday 4th October the walking group visited two local exhibitions. Firstly ‘Open To Interpretation’ by Elsie Hill at the Wasps Gallery in Osborne Street. This is a series of bold artworks using mainly primary colours. A large body of the exhibition is the 12 zodiac paintings, using red, yellow, blue and black, Hill creates new ways to imagine these famous images.
We then walked over to The Briggait to see work by the 2022 Highland Art Prize winner. An ode to the Scottish weather, these were a series of large canvases with grey, brown and green tones. They depicted traditional Scottish landscapes in an abstract way.
