participatory linescapes by Frank Mullen & Dorka Szender-Kisfaludy

“Our collaboration began in January 2025 within Project Ability’s Aspire workshops. Since then, we’ve been building a shared practice that explores space, memory, colour, and light, while learning from one another’s ways of seeing and making.

The works are playful and layered: paintings on canvas and plastic sheets, collages on acetate and paper, and drawings in ink and pastel. Some extend into sculptural landscapes, where mixed materials shape the canvas into new forms. Audio recordings of laughter and animal sounds from our studio sessions capture the spontaneity and joy of making together. During these sessions, we often used prompts and exercises to warm up and to challenge conventional ways of working.

tweet tweet is both a record of our time together and an invitation to step into the textures, forms, and sounds of reciprocity.”
