Project Ability have numerous volunteering opportunities throughout the year for both graduate and undergraduate artists, across our workshop programmes. We are now welcoming applications from artists across all disciplines to offer volunteer support to our different programmes of workshops. Deadline for applications: Sunday 06 January.

Our studios offer a vibrant and colourful working environment for our artists, tutors and volunteers alike. Volunteering with Project Ability will challenge you, no matter what stage you are at in your career, introducing you to new ways of making art and give you a unique opportunity to meet all of our artists. For more insight into former volunteer’s experiences, please look at our ‘Meet the Volunteer’ feature on our website.

We do two call-outs per year, one in December / January and one in June / July, and ask that our volunteers commit to two hours a week for the duration of an eight or ten week block of workshops, with a possibility to stay on for another block.

“To anyone considering volunteering with Project Ability I would definitely say go for it. It’s such an exciting creative environment to be in, with so many amazing artists approaching their work from completely different angles, and that in itself is incredibly rewarding and creatively stimulating.”
Mattie Roberts – Volunteer

“It has been an amazing experience to be involved in the Create workshops at Project Ability every Saturday. The children are so enthusiastic about making art, and I am impressed by the works that they create as well as by their strong ability to reflect and speak about their creative processes, interests and ideas.”

Ida Arentoft – Volunteer
