Live Portraits at Mi Casa
The Project Ability team travelled to Uddingston yesterday for Mi Casa (My House), an international event focused in supported living and self-directed support. Once we made it there, we set up a stall for our artists Lindsey and Cameron, who very kindly volunteered to do live portraits of the attendees.
The event was hosted by Citizen Network, Radical Visions and We Are One. The plans for the day included talks, workshops, stalls, live music and lunch. Attendees were excited to hear Scottish experiences and knowledge around self-directed support. Many of the stories highlighted the importance of listening and allowing those with learning disabilities to make the decisions around the type of support they get, when and how they get it.
Lindsey and Cameron did portraits for a variety of people:
- Matilde from Plena Inclusión Extremadura
- Sam from C-Change
- Frances from Radical Visions
- Michelle and Rhona from People First (Scotland)
Check this slideshow of images to see lovely people who visited our stall and the portraits they received from Cameron and Lindsey:
Doing live portraits at Mi Casa was very fun! If you’d like to book any of our artists for a live portrait session, please get in touch and let’s talk: email us at info@project-ability.co.uk.
