Volunteering at Project Ability art workshops
This week we’re chatting with Julie who volunteered with Project Ability during the last block of workshops.
“Having followed Project Ability across their social media platforms for a few years, I felt I might be able to offer some practical assistance in the studios. My background has been consistently varied over the years, but has always been creative and involved in education and learning. I studied Drawing and Painting at The Glasgow School of Art in the early 90’s and after completing my BA Hons degree, took a year to study for my PGCE at Jordanhill.
Art is the lens through which I live my life, and being given the opportunity to experience such a diverse and exciting range of others’ experiences and art practices has been thoroughly invigorating and reminds me again of the importance of art as a medium for individual expression. It was an immense privilege to get to know the Artists who attend the Aspire programme on Thursdays and I would like to say thank you to everyone who got to know me and extended me the honour of communication and connection, hopefully I was able to support you as artists in your studio practice.” – Julie
Thank you for your time and expertise Julie! It was so lovely having you in the studio.
