National Autistic Society Workshops with Project Ability

Since lockdown in 2020, tutor Tracy Gorman has worked with the National Autistic Society Scotland, to deliver weekly crafting sessions.

During the past two years, the group has developed new skills in a variety of arts and crafts activities including, collage, paper crafts, textiles and drawing and painting and have all really enjoyed getting to know each other in the process. Each week participants join the make along sessions, to join in, spectate or to share their own personal projects with the others in the group.  The sessions have been delivered over the platform of Microsoft Teams, but for the first time on Tuesday the 26th of July 2022, some of the group members met face to face to enjoy another crafting session! This time the session was in person at Project Ability’s studios at Trongate 103. For those that couldn’t attend, there was still the option to join online to be part of the fun. The group enjoyed creating their own Dreamcatcher, using a variety of yarns, ribbons and beads.  Everyone enjoyed meeting each other all over again, this time in 3D!
