The sun has been out in Glasgow, and so have our ReConnect walking group. Artist-tutor Celine McIlmunn kindly gave us the low-down on what they got up to on their first two outings:
The first outing was in Queens Park on the southside, where our walkers met up at the main gates and had a happy reunion chat before going for a ramble to take in the vistas from the viewpoint at the top of the hill. It was downhill after that to see the ducklings on the pond, and feed the pigeons. And then on we went to Victoria Road to finish off with some delicious and well-deserved ice creams. It was a lovely get together and great to meet up in person after such a long time.
On week two the group met up at the McLennan arch for a walk on Glasgow Green. This was where the group had their very first outing in 2016 so it was lovely to have a return visit. Some areas were fenced off with workers clearing up after the recent football related activities but there was still plenty of parkland to explore with a stop for a while to chat to the geese by the riverbank.
Hopefully the weather will be as fine for future walks!
