Our Artwork of the Week is this playful abstract drawing titled ‘Bird Man’, by Aspire artist Fiona Donald. Fiona has been working with charcoal and oil pastel a lot during Lockdown, and we can see she is experimenting with the different effects that can be achieved. The gallery below includes Fiona’s latest bird drawings and the two portrait pieces from our previous Lockdown exhibition.
The colours Fiona chooses are bold, thoughtful and perfectly suited to one another in each of these small masterpieces! The Project Ability gallery has shown Fiona’s paintings and drawings several times over recent years, and we are always delighted with the unique perspective her work brings into any exhibition it is part of. You can see these artworks with the rest of the exhibition work here, in ‘As Time Stood Still’, Part One and Part Two. We look forward to seeing more of Fiona’s drawings in the weeks to come!
