Creative Connections: Celebrating Our Collaboration with Together Reaching Higher
Over the past few months, Project Ability had the privilege of collaborating with Together Reaching Higher, a Glasgow-based social enterprise dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through diverse projects and initiatives. Their work fosters confidence, creativity, and connection in ways that leave a lasting impact.
As part of this partnership, Project Ability tutors Celine, Alison, and Emma worked closely with a group of women who access TRH’s services. Across two blocks of eight-week workshops, the group explored a wide range of creative practices including silk painting, printmaking, ceramics, cyanotype, drawing, and painting. The workshops offered space for individual expression as well as group collaboration.
Each week brought new discoveries. For some, it was their first time working with clay or experimenting with fabric dyes; for others, it was a chance to build on existing artistic skills in a supportive and welcoming environment. What emerged was not only a vibrant collection of artworks, but a sense of shared achievement, joy, and community.
To mark the end of the project, we hosted an exhibition in our Project Space celebrating the creativity and skill of the women involved. The works on display spoke volumes, not only of artistic talent but of the resilience and stories of the artists behind them.
We’re proud to have been part of this journey, and grateful to Together Reaching Higher for the opportunity to work alongside such an inspiring group. We are looking forward to welcoming the group back in a few months time as they commence on their next project.
