After our recent walk through Glasgow Green with Invisible Cities it was interesting to visit again, this time as part of a Radical Glasgow tour with a focus on Glasgow’s relationship with sport and the Commonwealth. Our guide was Henry, one of the founders of the organisation, and he had a wealth of stories to tell us, stopping off at some of the many monuments and other landmarks in the park. Henry was accompanied by an assistant who translated his words into sign language for a deaf participant. The walk was very accessible though our wheeler Ruth had to make a couple of small detours due to uneven surfaces, but nothing major.
Radical Glasgow delivers a range of walking tours throughout the year which explore histories of activism, protest, political and social change. You can find out more and make bookings at Radical Glasgow Tours – Walking through the radical histories and present-day struggles of the city of Glasgow
The walking group is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
