Walking Group Visit In Cahootz
On Wednesday 24th July the walking group visited City of Glasgow Collage to see an exhibition put on by In Cahootz. The exhibition is called Walking The City and we were shown round by the lovely Rachel and Linzi.
The work is based around the group’s own walking group and their walks around the centre of the city. A theme that popped up in several pieces was maps, with a wide variety of styles including one carved into wood. There were two excellent video installations one based on walking and one dance. A large dragonfly sculpture hung from the ceiling prompting a conversation about their wings.
In total 24 pieces by 16 artists; Bobby Jo Wilson, Donna Reid, Leanne Wright, Kate Black, Gordon Smith, John Coyle, Caitlin Mcphee, John Galloway, Linzi Briggs, Phil Foley, Deborah Streets, Stephen Hodgson, Lynn Kelly, Ruby Hannon, Noor Sabha and Pauline Smith.
