Covered

The Mug Museum album cover reimagining artwork. The painting has a dark blue background with the words Cate Le Bon on the top left corner and Mug museum in the top right hand corner. In a white circle in the centre the top half of a person in a black top looks out with a hand held to their forehead. Pink and white curved lines almost enclose the white circle like eyelids and there is a red dot on each side.

Covered is an exhibition of album cover artwork at Mono, made by artists working across Project Ability’s different studio programmes. Project Ability is a support studio and gallery for artists with learning disabilities and lived experience of mental ill health. We are located in Trongate 103, just around the corner from Mono. Our gallery and shop are open Wednesday-Saturday 11-5.

The Covered artworks are inspired by each individual artist and their favourite musicians, bands and album cover art. From Elvis Presley to Cate Le Bon – Fleetwood Mac to Cowboy Carter, there is an album cover here for every music lover’s taste. Most of the artworks are the size of an LP, painted, drawn or printed on paper and board.

You can view all of the Covered artworks in our online shop via this link.

Our artists were so inspired by this idea, we have decided to follow on with the album cover theme for our Christmas show this year. So if you like what you see here at Mono please come by our gallery in November and December to see even more.

All artworks are for sale!

Project Ability would like to thank Mono for being a great friend and supporter of Project Ability for the last several years. In addition to hosting exhibitions by Project Ability artists, the record shop inside Mono, Monorail, donates all of the money they earn from the carrier bag tax to us. This has amounted to a grand total (so far) of £2,547.00!

Thank you very much Mono!
