Artwork of the Week takes a look at our upcoming exhibition, Andrew Boyle and Michael Draper.
‘Jaguar’, painted by Andrew Boyle, is a beautiful portrait of this big spotted wild cat. Andrew has a love of animals, both real and fantastical. You’ll see a great selection of these worldly, and other-wordly, beasts in the gallery when the exhibition opens next week.
Andrew Boyle and Michael Draper each have their own distinct aesthetic, but both artists are inspired by landscapes. Boyle often referencing fantasy and science fiction film environments and Draper working from photographs he’s taken of places he’s visited.
‘Jaguar’ is a perfect example of the talent and skill Andrew brings to each artwork. Capturing the finest of lines and using subtle tonal changes in the paint, he brings these creatures to life with his own unique perspective.
Andrew Boyle and Michael Draper, the exhibition, opens on 12 May.
