Our Artwork of the Week takes one last look at our current exhibition, ‘Flashback to February’. This show, our first virtual exhibition at Project Ability, features a wonderful selection of paintings made in the Project Ability studios in the lead up to March 2020 – lockdown.
This particular painting was created by Aspire artist Tommy Mason. It is a large stretched canvas titled ‘Gangster Scene at Hotdog Stand’. It is a striking image, and the use of text is a first for the artist. We love the bold colours and, as always, we love seeing one of Mason’s signature figures – front and centre. All of us at Project Ability are really missing the artists, their energy and their work. March seems a long time ago now!
You can see this painting on the exhibition page, and also in our online exhibition shop!
