The group of ReConnect artists who have been working with the Open Museum got to see the fruits of their work last week. After a meandering bus journey they reached Pollok Civic Realm just in time for the opening reception. There were short speeches from some of the people involved with the project and then a chance to have a good look at the cases that John, the Open Museum technician, had constructed internally to house all the objects that our group had selected.

Alongside the Project Ability case is another similar one containing objects selected by patients at Leverndale Hospital. All the artefacts in both cases are part of the Joyce Laing ‘Art Extraordinary‘ collection that was donated to Glasgow Museums several years ago.

Our group was delighted to see the exhibition and also to see the postcards of their own artworks that were produced to accompany the exhibition.
The exhibition will run throughout 2019 at the Open Museum in Pollok Civic Realm.
