Almudena Rocca is one of six GSA students who took part in our collaborative project with the School of Art. Rather than working closely with one or two artists, she produced a series of works inspired by the people she met at Project Ability.
“I have been working within the ReConnect group. The work I have been creating has been about the relationships I have made within Reconnect, and my reaction to the space I have been working in. Through trial and error I decided to create a set of 10 plates for the 10 people that really influenced and inspired me during my time here at Project Ability. I have taken influence from Grayson Perry by using bold colours with an illustrative style to document and create a story on each plate.
Each plate I have made has a red line running through it so that all the plates are connected and the connection represents Project Ability. I have drawn different images and words that I think represent that specific person and Project Ability as a whole.
Overall I have really enjoyed my time here. It has been an amazing opportunity to meet and work with different people. I hope to be back soon.”
Thank you Almudena!
