Heritage Lottery group visits Gartnavel Royal

Artists sitting in front of work in Gartnavel

Last week, several Project Ability artists and members of the Heritage Lottery group visited Gartnavel Royal to see the collection of artwork on display.

We meet with Fiona Sinclair who has had the job of collecting and curating this work. We first toured around the public space and were amazed at how much work was by Project Ability’s own artists. Jim Feeney had an entire wall, which he seemed thrilled to see. Simon McAuley and Jonathan Mckinstry also had huge amounts of work on display, and there were also several wonderful pieces of art made by patients with some of our own tutors, Sandi and Meredith. The space was beautiful and boundary breaking. We then spent some time chatting with Fiona about the collection and potential future collaborations.

The Heritage Lottery group would also like to take this time to announce the opening of our curated case of work from the Art Extraordinary collection. The launch will take place at Pollok Civic Realm on Wednesday 12th December at 1pm. We hope to see you there if you can make it.
